Here by popular demand, an update...

Steph and Dave finally broke up, this time (we hope) for good. So all you single guys out there, roll on up to see our lucky bachelorette, the sweet, smart, funny, and infinitely sexy girl we all know and love, our very own Stephie!

In other news, I spent the week at Steph's house and we had much fun. On Monday we went thrifting and Steph got herself a cool pair of boots with little pockets and she bought me a long black trenchcoat because it fit me so nicely. Now I have yet another way of scaring the locals. On Tuesday, we went back to AC High to see some of our old teachers and catch up on things. We also did lots of yoga and walked down to the Point and back- that's 4.2 miles for those of you who are counting. Tuesday night I coached Steph through her breakup with Dave, and did my best to keep her calm and focused on her argument. On Wednesday we got Sean and had Japanese food for dinner, then drove down to the Point since it was already too dark to walk. It looked so beautiful in the moonlight, the whole scene was very romantic. Thursday we got Temple Bob and went to see "The Matrix Reloaded," which was pretty good ("The Matrix" was a tough act to follow) but the cliffhanger ending left us all a little disappointed. All the same, go see it. Then we got pizza, made dinner (red snapper with too many bones), Ventnor Bob came over and hung out, and then we dropped him off and got Leah to go to the Ocean City boardwalk. We saw Jon and it was weird. I had hopes that Temple Bob and Steph would possibly like each other. Not sure where that will go at this point. I also met Leah's rat, the Cheat. Friday morning Sean and I lazed around in bed until early afternoon. Then Sean got driven back to the train station and I got picked up to go home.

And now I'm kind of between things, looking both back and forward. I reminisced with Leah, went to AC, talked with Temple Bob about the things that happened or might have happened between us, and generally did a lot of ruminating on the past. Now I face a new home in Arizona, a new job (hopefully), and new experiences, not to mention a whole summer away from the Atlantic Ocean, my friends, and my love. Strangely I feel like Paul Atreides, leaving the ocean world of Caladan for the desert planet Arrakis. Maybe I'm too much the science fiction geek, or I just plain read too much in general.

"They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity of the sand." -Gurney Halleck, "Dune"

"On Arrakis, it's desert power." -Duke Leto Atreides, "Dune"
